Abraham - The Strange and the Beautiful

Jan 18, 2026    Pastor Joshua Hanson

What do you do when doubts creep in? Abraham asked God the hard questions: "How can I be sure?" Instead of anger, God met him with patience and drew him into something deeper—a covenant sealed not by Abraham's promise, but by God's own.

In Genesis 15, God walked through the valley of death alone, making an oath that would one day cost His Son everything. When you cut a deal with God, He's the one who gets cut—so you don't have to. That strange, bloody covenant pointed forward to the cross, where Jesus fulfilled every promise and silenced every doubt.

God doesn't shame your questions. He invites you to bring them to the cross and remember: His faithfulness is greater than your fear. When life feels uncertain and nothing makes sense, look to Calvary. That's where all doubts go to die.
